Frame Size Guide
Find your perfect fit. Here's everything you need to know about eyeglass frame measurements.
How to Read
Reading Your Frame Sizes
To ensure your frames fit perfectly, start by checking the measurements on a pair you already own. Look for three small numbers printed on the inside of the temple arm.
From left to right, these numbers represent:
- Lens Width
- Bridge Width
- Temple Length
Sometimes a fourth number (lens height) will also be noted. All measurements are in millimeters.

Measurements Explained
Understanding Each Measurement

Lens Width
40mm – 60mm
The horizontal width of each lens at its widest point. This is the first number printed on the inside of your temple arm.
Bridge Width
14mm – 24mm
The distance between the two lenses — the space where the frame rests on your nose. A comfortable bridge is key to all-day wear.
Temple (Arm) Length
120mm – 150mm
The length of the arm from screw to tip, including the bend that sits over your ear. Common lengths are 135mm, 140mm, and 145mm.
Lens Height
28mm – 48mm
The vertical height of each lens. Especially important if you need bifocal or progressive lenses, which require a taller lens area.

Helpful Tips for Finding Your Fit
Finding the Perfect Frame Width
A frame that is too narrow will make your face look wider, while a frame that is too wide will make it look narrower. Find a frame that is slightly wider than your face — no more than a finger width between the temple and your face. To measure, use a tape across the full front of the frame including hinges.
Get Comfortable with Temple Length
The temple should run horizontally and evenly along your face, resting comfortably along the outside of your ear. 135mm, 140mm, 145mm, and 150mm are the most common options. To find your measurement, measure one arm from screw to tip.
Picking the Right Lens Size
Small lens width is 50mm or less, medium is 51–54mm, and large is 55mm or wider. Your eyes should be centered within the lenses — frames too wide make eyes appear close together, while narrow frames create a wide-set look.
Selecting the Ideal Bridge Width
The bridge should sit comfortably flush against your nose. If you have close-set eyes, choose a lower number. If your nose sits higher on your face, a frame with the bridge even with the brow line will look best. Measure the distance between the inner edges of each lens.
